Week 9 Summary

My favorite were Online generator making the little man. Doing the Library thing with cataloging. and chosing the puppy kicking his waterpail in Utube.

Waht do I takeaway from this? Showed me what young people use suck as my young nieces and nephews who like to communitcate on the web in different ways .

What could be done diffrently is giving more instruction on some of the things such as Sandbox.

If offered again, it maybe a possibly doiong it again in the future.

Overdrive--Week 9 #22

This is useful. To download music and audiobooks.If I had something to download to, it maybe a southern gospel song or country. More music than like listening to a book for me.

Podocasts--Week 9 #21

Podocast are useful for listening to programs. For library use? How to request a ILL Book, how to search the catalog, and probably many other uses.

Youtube--week 9 #20

This reminds me of Charlie when he was a puppy and he stills throws his waterpail in another place in the pen outside. Maybe useful for library if they want to show something of interest.

Web 2.0 awards list--week 8 #19

Google maps is interesting. I looked up the place I was raised as a child. It showed the chicken houses and fields as well where it is located when I selected the satelitte option. This could be useful in showing patrons the surrounding areas of where they are going on a trip, etc.

Online productivity--week 8 #18

ok, I looked at both. Which one I liked better. There's pro and cons on each. I could do a spreadsheet on Zoho and couldn't save a word document on Google. I did a spreadsheet on timesheet for work. The planner on Zoho didn't like. Instead I like the Goggle planner better. Unfortunaly when I copy and paste to this blog it shows up differently, therefore I not able to display it the way I like to.

Sandbox wiki--Week 7 #17--2.0

Ok, I added my Flicker blog with my pet on it. The only thing is if you don't know html, this is confusing in adding to this site.
Steps:
Go to the blog you want to display
Edit on top of page and select copy
Go to sandbox.
Log in.
Edit page link on top of page
put mouse where you like page to be
Hit Link on top of page
Place mouse in url box and paste--Edit on top of page and select paste--your link should appear
Give a name to it in the link text page box between the 2 bracket b's --edit and paste.
Hit Ok
Now hit save key on bottom of page.
Done.

Ok, not really helpful to me. It seems more helpful maybe to a college student doing a paper, or a writer or someone doing a research project. When going in others Delicious people's websites they may only list one webpage that maybe of interest. Somewhat of a waste of time to me.

Technology--week3

When I first came to work. I had to type all cards on a typewriter. Now it's all computerized. And when I got married I taught my husband about computers, he never learned, now I can't get him off at times while he's on E-Bay. And the cell-phones, if I forgot my camera, I can now take pictures on the cellphone instead. It has come a long way and still a lot to learn and to discover with technology. What's next?
